Too much sunshine...

... leading to no writing!

I know the south has had rubbish weather, but where I am, it has been wall to wall sunshine (or at worst, sunny spells) for what feels like WEEKS. In fact, the garden is crying out for rain. I want it to rain. I need it to rain. Not just because that will give me an enforced break from gardening (which my body will rejoice at) but because I'm spending all my time in the garden and no time writing.

We are blessed/cursed with a large garden and fantastic soil. Everything grows well here. Too well. Every few years we realise that there's a jungle outside and we need to do some serious work on it. This year, most of April (in fact, even back in to March), we have had amazing weather. Sunny, warm (18C!), dry... and so my hubby and I have been working away, clearing out overgrown plants, raising seedlings, renovating massive chunks of the garden. I'm finding it almost impossible to settle down to writing anything, because I'm worried the good weather will go and I'll still have garden stuff to do. I'm also a complete 'outdoors' person and can hardly bear to be inside when the weather is good out - I need to be out in it!

Once the next bit of gardening is done, I'll be able to write outside with a relatively clear conscience. By which point, it will probably be raining!
